intraVnews 1.2 BETA
Posted on: Tuesday, 27 December 2005 12:21 GMT
This update is a compatibility release for .Net Framework 2.0. It also includes some
changes in multithreading that improve overall responsiveness, as well as performance and memory use.
If you find any issues with this release, please let us know at beta@intravnews.com
- Improved multithreading
- Various performance and memory optimizations
- Refresh feed immediately refreshes instead of adding it to the main queue
- Refresh now (F9) adds all subscriptions to queue in background, not locking up the UI
- Fix: dc:terms was incorrectly parsed
- Some servers returned an invalid HTTP status code. This caused feed to be invalid
You can download it here.

intraVnews 1.12 Release Candidate 3
Posted on: Friday, 14 October 2005 10:18:00 GMT
Changes:
- Fixed memory leak
- Fixed errors due to opening Note item in Outlook 2003: "Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not
valid." or "The note will close and the changes will not be saved."
- Fixed: Uninstaller now launches survey in default browser instead of IE
- Fixed: style sheet could not be read on locked down PC with LDAP authentication
- Various memory optimizations
- Fixed OPML import issue with another OPML format found "in the wild"
- Outlook and Office shared libraries now correctly installing in GAC again
For some reason, the previous build did not install correctly, causing some libraries not to be placed in the GAC.

You can download it here.
File not found while upgrading over older intraVnews beta
Posted on: Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:17:00 GMT
When you install Release Candidate 2, you may get an error message stating that a file could not be found (fguninst3.dll).
You may also receive this error when you uninstall build 1.12.2026.789 via Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.
This was an issue with 1.12.2026.789. There is a KB article that describes this problem and the solution.
intraVnews 1.12 Release Candidate 2 (Update)
Posted on: Wednesday, 3 August 2005 00:07:00 GMT
This update fixes a new issue that appeared in Release Candidate 2 that was released on Monday. The custom fields
including PublicationDate were not being filled. You can download the updated build here.
Change:
- The postitem fields: PublicationDate, Feed, Group, and Creator are available again.
As a reminder: You can install updates without having to uninstall the current version. Just download it and run it.
intraVnews 1.12 Release Candidate 2
Posted on: Monday, 1 August 2005 19:47:00 GMT
Some important fixes in this release. You can download it here.
Changes:
- Shutdown issue with Outlook hanging or crashing resolved.
- Shutdown issue with Spambayes resolved. If Spambayes and intraVnews were both running, you could not shut down Outlook normally.
- Sometimes postitems were in "draft" mode. The main symptom is that links can not be clicked. This has been resolved in this release.
- Dual display support for balloon. The balloon now correctly displays on secondary screen by default, and optionally on the primary screen.
- Fixed spelling error: Home folder was called intraVNews instead of intraVnews.
As a reminder: You can install updates without having to uninstall the current version. Just download it and run it.

intraVnews Roadmap
Posted on: Saturday, 25 June 2005 13:54:00 GMT
RSS is moving forward at a rapid pace. At FutureGlue, we are excited that this technology is now finally becoming mainstream!
We're currently testing our first Podcasting support features and you should see it appear in our intraVnews for Outlook version soon.
Our desktop RSS engine is now being used in thousands of locations worldwide by people who live in Outlook. Our engine complies with all RSS and Atom standards and implements all known bandwidth saving measures.
On the desktop, the intraVnews engine outperforms NewsGator's Outlook Edition and Attensa RSS Reader for Outlook. You can easily subscribe to up to 5000 feeds simultaneously with intraVnews and use Outlook 2003's search folders for filtering.
A standalone version of intraVnews will be available later this year with additional support for filtering and new RSS extensions.
Gnomedex 5.0
Posted on: Wednesday, 22 June 2005 08:30:00 GMT
This year's Gnomedex is in Seattle. We'll follow the events from a distance, but we're participating with a special offer:
All Gnomedex visitors are eligible for a free intraVnews license. If you have registered at Gnomedex, sign up
here and receive your free license after the event.
intraVnews 1.12 Beta 3
Posted on: Tuesday, 17 May 2005 11:04:00 GMT
Thanks everyone for the continued feedback! We have been able to address a number of issues in this build because of this.
You can download it here.
Changes:
- Hibernate/Standby support. When the PC resumes, intraVnews will wait up to 30 seconds until a connection is established before starting to update feeds.
- Fixed some additional shutdown bugs.
- Better support for when exchange server is offline.
- Performance and memory optimizations.
- Added support for Delta Encoding.
- Updated various UI elements to improve esthetics.
- NotModified, ReceiveFailure and Name Resolution Failure cases handled better
- Fixed HTTP 301 bug ("hotel bug"). Feed URLs are not updated en masse if the proxy replies with blanket "Moved Permanently" and requiring you to log in to make Ineternet connection.
- Fixed TTL=0 bug. Feeds with TTL=0 would update constantly.
- Fixed Title for ScriptingNews feeds
- Fixed blank feed titles. For feeds without title, URL will be displayed.
- Fixed character encoding bug. For some feeds, correct encoding was not picked up.

Bug Report :: RE: Outlook Stops Responding
Posted on: Tue, 14 Mar 2006 22:02:31 GMT
Please try intraVnews 1.2 and let us know if this resolves the problem.
I was about to report the same issue but found this first so I've installed 1.2 beta (after un-installing the 1.12 version) and will let you know how it works out.
It seems to load a heck of a lot quicker when you view subscriptions already... 1 second instead of 3 or 4..

intraVnews Technical Support :: RE: Can not installPosted on: Mon, 13 Mar 2006 12:25:44 GMT
Appears all .msi won't install. Keep getting the Access denied error.
I've googled and tried a bunch of fixes but nothing is working yet.
Bug Report :: RE: intraVnews does not support Toolbar/Menu customization?Posted on: Fri, 10 Mar 2006 09:52:11 GMT
Multiple toolbars is actually a small bug in 1.2. and will be fixed in the upcoming release candidate.
Peter.
Bug Report :: RE: intraVnews does not support Toolbar/Menu customization?Posted on: Fri, 10 Mar 2006 09:45:36 GMT
Interesting - but now I can see other consequences of this "temporary" toolbar.
I am seeing multiple copies of the toolbar appearing in each outlook window. Sometimes I will simultaneoulsy have two copies in one outlook window say a calendar view, three copies in the RSS folder view window, and one in my Inbox window - just for example. The myltiple toolbars appear in both the view/toolbars menu and show on the screen. All appear functional.
If I close windows and re-open them, usually only one toolbar shows up.
I suspect that hibernate and suspend/resume may have something to do with it - or closing and restarting outlook wiht multiple windows open. My practice of closing the toolbar in one window and leaving it active in another may also contribute.
Sorry I haven't had time to play with it more and pin down the cause - but this info might point you in the right direction.
intraVnews Technical Support :: Can not installPosted on: Fri, 10 Mar 2006 09:32:14 GMT
I tried 1.1 and 1.2 beta and they both give a error saying access is denied.
I have .net 1.1 and .net 2.0 installed and I tried to login as Admin but that still doesn't allow me to install the app.
Any services that need to be running that may be off or something I need to install before ?

intraVnews Wishlist :: Filtering of feedsPosted on: Wed, 08 Mar 2006 22:55:55 GMT
Some have requested positive filtering of feeds, e.g. only to consume feeds with specific keywords. An option to filter
out specific keywords would also be very nice, particularly useful with feeds from forums and bulletin boards plagued by spam and spam-like entries.
intraVnews Technical Support :: RE: Default update timePosted on: Mon, 06 Mar 2006 17:56:20 GMT
no help :(
Bug Report :: RE: Secured Feeds - need to login each day?Posted on: Mon, 06 Mar 2006 08:56:05 GMT
Peter,
I am writing to tech support at WSJ, asking for a technical contact for you to work with. If you send me an email address I will copy you on the email or give it to them if they respond positively.
Bug Report :: RE: Crashing because site is down?Posted on: Mon, 06 Mar 2006 08:20:11 GMT
Hi there.
I sent you a log file of mine earlier. It would appear to be related to the fact that the feed for The Inquirer is down (http://theinquirer.net/inquirer.rss)
